Bypassing European Bureaucracy
It has been uncharacteristically quiet on the blog for the past few weeks. In a world of constant noise, I chose a temporary silence to focus on what truly matters: a demanding professional chapter at velpTEC and the final, meticulous preparations for our wedding.
Our journey to "I do" was not without its trials. After nearly four years in Portugal—up until September 2025—we attempted to marry at a registry office in Lisbon three separate times. The contrast was night and day. Within three weeks, the process was complete. For a few hundred dollars and with seamless digital execution, we were married. The ceremony took place on a Saturday at 10:00 AM Manila Time, with friends and family from across the globe joining us via a high-definition link.
We celebrated our union with a restorative honeymoon weekend on the shores of Samal Island. As I write this, our official documents, complete with the necessary Apostilles, are in transit via international courier. We are finally ready to move forward.
